Kara is an amazing, kind and gentle dog lover. She has a true knack for reading dogs cues and connecting with them. She's extremely reliable and trustworthy and has helped us with our special needs dogs. We have a completely blind (eyeless) terrier and a very senior lab who need a little extra attention and a very patient caregiver. Kara was my go-to sitter and trainer for my beloved Chow-mix for 13 years prior to her passing. She is not only knowledgeable about breeds, their behaviors and characteristics, but goes the extra mile to study and implement new training techniques to make their lives and relationship to their owners and the world a lot better. As a shelter dog who had been abused, my Chow came with many difficult issues. She was hesitant with children and men and also stressed in social situations and with other dogs. Kara was attentive and sensitive to her needs and helped me to better understand how to ease her transition into new settings. Kara had no problem handling her on a leash and my dog felt very safe and comfortable in her presence. She even suggested creative ways to get her to play and keep her mind busy while we were gone.
